Who I will and will not paint

Who we will paint

It is a delight to paint children who are happy and want to have a face paint session!

Children who have lovely clean faces.

Children who try really hard to sit still while they are face painted.

Children up to the age of 16 who have a responsible adult with them who give their permission to allow face painting.

Adults who dare to be brave!

Conditions that restrict make-up

The following disorders and conditions will restrict make-up application, therefore we may or may not be able to work on anyone with the following:

  • Styes
  • Recent Chicken Pox
  • Heavy Colds
  • Eczema and Dermatitis
  • Recent Bruising
  • Children unable to sit still
  • Lanolin Intolerance
  • Nervous Disposition

Who we will NOT paint

We do not paint anyone who has a contagious illness, or who has open sores or wounds. Even acne should be avoided, as the necessary rubbing to remove the paint can also cause irritation to the sensitized skin. In cases like this, we suggest painting another area, such as the arm.

If you suspect that your skin is sensitive skin you could test the paint on the inside of your wrist before we begin. If there is no reaction after a few minutes will be safe to proceed.

If your skin becomes itchy or irritated, you will need to instantly remove the face paint and apply a barrier cream. Even then a few people have still have a reaction to the barrier cream and it is best not to apply the face paint in this case.

Conditions that prevent make-up

The following diseases, disorders and conditions will prevent make-up application completely, in the area of the contra-indication, therefore we will be unable to work on anyone with the following:
